Not Afraid to Create: A Gentle Rebellion in the Early Hours

Giant ACME Croissant

Breakfast is calling!

At ACME, we believe in the unexpected. Not the kind that tries to impress, but the kind that invites you to rethink. To recombine. To play.

Not Afraid to Create is our ongoing morning series—a place for artists, thinkers, bakers, and builders to explore new forms by mixing what doesn’t usually go together. Not everything needs a reason. But some things need a ritual.

Edition 01: Bread as Art

We started with bread. Not to serve it—but to sculpt it.

To mark our anniversary, we turned the bakery into a gallery. Loaves became language. Baguettes leaned like Brancusi. There were abstract shapes. Familiar textures out of place. And hands doing what they’ve always done—kneading, folding, shaping—but with new intent.

The result wasn’t perfection. It wasn’t supposed to be. It was a morning where food became form. A space to look at bread, not just eat it. To ask: what else can this be?

Volume 02: Sightless (with Our Projects)

Our second session removed the obvious. No vision. No labels. Just taste, scent, and touch.

Together with Our Projects, we created Sightless: a live sensory experience that played with expectation. Guests entered the bakehouse. Blindfolded.

There was confusion and surprise—Cinnamon roll milk martini with coffee glass.
Smooth and rough textures beneath fingertips—Coffee paired with nutmeg or grapefruit.
Unfamiliar textures paired with the tastes of the breakfast table—Ciabatta and apple jelly.
And conversations didn’t begin with “What is this?” but instead, “What do I feel?”

For two hours, the café became something else:
A lab. A temple. A strange, warm playground for adults who remembered how to wonder.

What began as a tasting became a study in perception.

ACME Morning Session

Morning sessions at ACME Bakehouse. A way to play.

Why This? Why Now?

Because we don’t believe in waiting for a ‘right time’ to make something meaningful. We believe in process. In craft. In putting two ideas together and seeing what sticks. We believe play is serious. And seriousness can be playful. The unexpected is often where we find vision. The good part is when something doesn’t go as planned and results in something new.

These sessions aren’t performances. They’re proposals. Invitations. A space to test. To explore. To remix.

The Morning Table is Open
There’s no script. No show. No dress code. Only a table. A few chairs. A starting point.
